How Do We Get Started?

| 1. | The first step is to see which style of home you prefer - ranch, cape, 2-story home. You can either visit our model in Powhatan, browse through our brochures or click your choice above, to find the style of home that meets your lifedtyle and is most appealing. | | | | 2. | Meet with Linda to help custom design and put the finishing touches on your floorplan, add any extra features (basements, garages, porches, etc.), prepare a cost estimate, and discuss financing options available. If not already done, we suggest you have your property perked and surveyed at this time. | | | | 3. | Once you've made your decision to build. Meet with Linda again to finalize your floorplan, sign your contract and pick out flooring, cabinets, countertops, bathroom fixtures and faucets, shingles, siding, shutters, etc. Country Living Homes will then send your request for plan drawings, and at the same time, send your lender the paperwork for your construction-to-perm mortgage. Bart will meet you at your property site to go over placement of the house and clearing and any other issues relative to your land. | | | | 4. | In approximately 2 weeks we'll receive the engineer's Preliminary Drawings (PDs). This gives you an opportunity to see how the home will look and how the plan is laid out, prior to it being built. If there are further changes you wish to make, we can send the PDs back and request a new set of drawings reflevting those changes. | | | | 5. | Once you are satisfied with the plans and once your loan is approved, we begin to build your home. This process takes about 6-8 weeks. While we are waiting for your home delivered, Country Living Homes applies for your building permit, begins clearing, grading, digging footers and putting in your foundations. | | | | 6. | Your home is here! Depending on the size of your home and weather permitting, it will take about 6-8 weeks more to finish the interior of your home and complete the well, septic, heating system, etc. | | | | 7. | Prior to occupancy, we have a Final Walk-Thru of your home and make a "Punch Out List" of anything for Country Living Homes to follow-up on. This is when your 10-year Warranty is officially activated. | | | | 8. | Congratulations! Your home is finished and your lender finalizes the paperwork to modify your construction loan into a 30 years mortgage, and you can move in. | | |
